Nero was more interesting in the comic than he was in the movie. I personally thought that if he wanted to protect Romulus so bad that he would have remembered his history and fucking with the Enterprise never goes well, and Romulans can live over 300 years... so honestly he could have simply waited a hundred years and fired the red matter that he didn't have before into pain in the ass multiple supernova star and saved the universe. A much more boring movie sure, but that would have worked out better for Romulus as a whole. |

Look, that doesn't fit with the usual "Romulans are jackasses" theme that all other Star Trek series and movies seem to follow. |

Well, Nero was shown as against general Romulan jackassery and those who wanted to hold onto that way should get shishkebobbed. I'm taking that idea further. |

Well, if nothing else, with Spock around in this timeline, Romulus has a second chance. My guess is eventually someday the remaining Vulcans will unify with the Romulans, save the planet, and all will be good. Roundabout way to do it, but Nero's actions will still have saved Romulus. |

Comic book explained a lot. When I see the movie, I'll much have a better understanding of Nero than going in with out reading. |

Good movie, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Having seen the Original Series and Next Generation, I was familiar with the universe enough to make it more enjoyable to me. |

Finally saw it, fucking awesome! Can't wait for a sequel where they can build up the villain a bit more, good thing I read the prequel comic. |

Does anyone know what (if any) plans are in motion for a sequel? Or maybe an ongoing TV series? I'd love to see either, where the new universe can be explored in full without having to directly connect to the old timeline and introduce the new characters. |

There are rumblings about a sequel. I heard they are thinking of using Khan since it would be a whole new history between him and Kirk. |

Yeah, a sequel was confirmed about a week after this was released. There's talk of Khan, but they're also considering other ideas. My favorite is the one where Kirk runs into Q, with John deLancie reprising the role. XD |

And Q vs Kirk would be epic. Especially if Q, considering he's... you know, Q, would know about the multiple branching timelines. |

Yes. Q is always awesome, but Q visiting an alternate universe would be even better! XD I just hope there's a song and dance number if it happens. >_> |

Yeah, that was the rumor. Q would realize something was up, and would seek out Kirk, allowing him to go one-on-one with the only major Captain he's never messed with (aside from Archer). I was always bummed that that one idea for Enterprise never happened, where Dean Stockwell was gonna show up as some sorta alien nemesis for Archer. XD |
